La noche de ayer se llevó a cabo la ceremonia de entrega de los Premios Emmy. Los llamados «Óscares de la televisión» marcaron la ruptura del récord en nominaciones por una misma cadena para HBO y el récord por más nominaciones a una serie para Game Of Thrones. Finalmente la cadena se hizo con nueve premios durante la ceremonia televisada y treinta y cuatro en total incluyendo premios para el actor Peter Dinklage como Actor de Reparto, Bill Hader por Barry como Actor Principal en una Comedia, Chernobyl por premios en Escritura, Dirección y como Serie Limitada.
Una de las grandes sorpresas de la noche fue la comedia de Amazon Prime Video Fleabag que se hizo con cuatro premios, a pesar de encontrarse en ternas reñidas y con programas que han alcanzado mayor proyección mundial. Por su parte Netflix logró conseguir veintisiete premios durante la ceremonia con Ozark como su trabajo más destacado así como Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Otros ganadores incluyen RuPaul’s Drag Race y Saturday Night Live.
